NGOs working in India need their staff’s capacity built in ways to use the Public Health and Development approach to strengthen their programs.
INSA-India has the unique distinction of having provided such Trainer Programs and followed up every participant trained in the places they work, across India, Nepal Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The SEARCH Program was the 56th residential Trainer Program. 20 mid level and senior managers participated in the program held in Bangalore. They each developed project plans on addressing key issues in their work to strengthen community based health and development, child protection, youth empowerment and elderly care.
The INSA-India team is mentoring them continuously. In this year, three participants from Tamil Nadu received 4-5 days follow up mentoring from INSA-India. The rest in 6 other states of India will be
Visited by October‘15 so that each participant is able to do what they learnt within their context, all staff of their organizations are trained and 19 organizations becomes the lead organizations in the area.
